Hi. My name is Constance and I've lived in Charlotte my entire life. My mom was a teacher for 20 years so I've learned a lot from her. I have my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte and hope to get my second Bachelor's degree in Special Education in the next few years.
I grew up in a musical family. I took AP Music Theory when I was in 9th grade, and attended UNCC while still in high school for music classes. I was accepted into Furman University on a vocal performance scholarship in 2002; however, I transferred to Queens and changed my major to Psychology. I still love music and would love to teach others how wonderful music is!
My teaching style is laid-back and patient. It is easy for a student to get frustrated when trying to learn something new. I try to eliminate the frustration, not contribute to it. Recently, I volunteered as a music teacher/therapist at a residential psychiatric facility for kids with behavioral and emotional disorders. It is important to be patient with students, especially those with special needs, to make learning enjoyable. I hope to make music enjoyable for you!
