Hello, my name is Nicole and I recently graduated of the Ohio State university, with a degree in World Business and Economics. While in college I was involved in many extra curricular activities including but not limited to, playing on the Varsity club women's rugby team, community service, and holding a part time job on campus. Even though I had many different activities on my plate, I was able to earn and maintain a solid 3.1 GPA.
I would like to take this time to give a more in depth on my career as a student. As a second grader I was diagnosed with a learning disorder, in which I was unable to comprehend and remember key and valuable information that was taught to me. Many teachers and doctors a like did not believe that I would every be anything more than a C or D student. However with hard work, alternative teaching methods, and a stubborn never back down attitude, I was able to move onto high school with a B as an average grade.
While in high school, I continued to teach myself all of the information I was required to learn, and then some, based on my own methods and ways of remembering. My ability to comprehend and retain knowledge has since then continued to grow, allowing me to graduate high school, as both an athlete and the vice president of our schools National Honor Society chapter.
I have become a firm believer that with the proper learning technique anyone can earn high marks in their schooling. Unfortunately for many students the way information is presented in class, may be very boring and detached from their own personalities. I have taught myself how to make learning more personal, and therefore easier and more exciting than what many school atmospheres can give.
I am a very energetic and compassionate person who is interested in helping students from grade school into high school.
