Hello. My name is Michael and I am a third year anthropology student at UCSB. I am originally from San Diego and attended La Jolla High School. I went to a Montessori school for K-5th grade, which had a huge impact on my life. Books, the internet, movies and music make up a good part of my existence.
Why pick me as a tutor? I am patient. I am a good listener. I have spent a good amount of time learning the best ways to explain things to people and enjoyed it. I will make sure you understand the concepts I teach and won't go too fast or slow because I believe in feedback and open communication. I believe there is nothing more fundamentally beautiful than the process of learning and acquiring knowledge. This is because of the excellent teachers I've had. If you don't understand an idea, I will do my best to break it down or put it into terms you can understand. I know how frustrating not being able to grasp concepts can be and the last thing I want to do is walk away from a session where you are still confused.
My tutoring experience comes mainly from helping friends and family. This is the first "tutoring company" I've ever worked for.
