I am an EXPERIENCED & CERTIFIED K-6 Elementary School Teacher, who can assist your child with all of these needs. My experience and teaching focus has primarily been with 5th grade Math & Science; however, I am qualified to teach all elementary grades and subjects. In addition to my graduate level degrees in Counseling and Elementary Education, I have completed several professional development courses through the school district on current teaching methods for literacy, math, and teaching special needs students. I also have tutoring experience as a result of outreach and after school programs through my current school.
You will find that I am a passionate educator committed to the belief that ALL children can learn and ALL children can achieve their goals. I teach with a positive approach and will scaffold instruction so that children will learn and develop the skills necessary for personal success.
I believe that as an elementary teacher I am responsible for helping students have the foundations necessary for future success in their education as well as life. Teaching at this level is more than academics. It also includes teaching organization, study skills, and boosting self-esteem and confidence. Therefore, my approach naturally includes these aspects as well.
