Bible studies
When I was 14 years old I made the choice that my life was not going to go anywhere excellent unless I made the effort to live right. I decided to attend His Place Church, and that's where it all started.
Since then I have been passionatly studying The Bible as a part of my everyday life. I read The Bible everyday, and I have read many books about The Bible.
When I was in High School I took three missions trips to Mexico. Went to countless retreats, youth group services and church services. I was in choir, and a substitute sunday school teacher, and became a youth leader for junior high, where I taught "CELL" groups on sunday mornings.
Towards the end of my high school career I attended a smaller church called The Valley Church. There I was involved in Sunday School, I was a youth group leader, and I attended and completed the Basic Doctrine Class, as well as going on two women's retreats and a four day conference in Abottsford in Canada.
This church is where I met my husband and as we moved further south we attended Christian Family Center. Upon having the skill to play piano, I was given a few more lessons and then joined the college group worship team.
I wish I could still be there, however my husbands work brought us to Seattle, where I now attend The City Church and hope to get more involved.
I am currently looking into some Bible colleges, and can't wait for what my future has in store!
ESL/ESOL
Other than Bible Studies, Spanish is my favorite thing to study and my career goal. I plan to speak Spanish very fluently and become a translator.
I have been studying Spanish for four years. If English is your second lanuage, and you have a hispanic backround, we will get along just fine!Learning spanish has taught me many things about English, verb patterns, and grammar. I am sensitive to those learning English, because I too know how it feels to learn another language. I will be able to help you in the English language now matter what backround you are from, however I must admit Spanish is my specialty.
Depending on your level of experience, I will start with beginning, intermediate, and advanced exercises in English that will help you perform better, and learn key words and concepts for everyday language usage.
Si habla español, y necesita ayuda para aprender íngles, ¡puedo ayudarle! Es el subjecto que me gusta más de todos los subjectos, además La Biblia. Entiendo como difícil es para aprender otra idioma, pero podemos ayudar unos a otros.
piano
Piano is one of those hobbies, that you can always come back to. All it takes is a piano or keyboard, and then you'll always have it.
I learned to play piano when I was very young, along with voice lessons. I took a break from it for a couple years and then pursued it again my junior year in high school. I picked up right where I left off and put my emphasis on learning to play chords and make them flow while playing with a band.
I learned how to play with church music and a worship team, however I like to practice sheet music at home as well. Once you learn how to read sheet music, its hard to forget, and chords are even easier!
soccer
If you're a soccer star, or are a beginner, I can help you!
I played soccer when I was young for about five years, and have played in-door and out-door soccer.
In soccer there is a lot of running, so we will train with cardio work outs, as well as foot work, scrimages and quick reflex drills.
I will also teach positions and practice shoots with you as the Goaly, if you prefer. Maybe try it the other way around if I'm too strict on ya :)
swimming
Swimming is my favorite form of exercise since it is so easy on the joints. Running can be harsh on ones knees, ankles, hips but swimming to me is like flying. It is a good work out for your heart, arms and legs without being too straining on one particular muscle. It works many muscles and is good for toning.
I swim often with my membership at the YMCA, and students can swim for $2.50 a visit.
I will teach back stroke, breaststroke, butterfly, treading water and kicking techniques.
Swimming lessons will be flexible, usually one hour, as often as student prefers.
tennis
Tennis is a fun sport and it is a work out! I was on the tennis team my freshman year of high school and I had a blast. I have always made a point of playing, serving, and keeping score like the professionals. Its better that way! I have attempted to teach my husband how to play, however he's a little too strong and powerful for the sport! :) He makes me run a lot...
This would be a wonderful subject to teach, because we get to hit the court and have some fun...
voice (music)
I took a good portion of voice lessons from a local teacher in Mount Vernon. I have had many years in choir. I understand the breathing techniques and voice, tone and pitch concepts. I have been in recitals, choir concerts, and sang on a worship team at church. I play piano, and own a keyboard which is a good tool in voice lessons for pitch and song practice.
When teaching this subject I will use the curriculum of a text book and start at the basics, or start more advanced, depending on your experience as a student. I will introduce different genres of music and singing styles.
If you like to sing, this is for you!
