study skills
I am continuing student of history at the graduate level at San Diego State University. I have been building and exercising my study skills continually and am also now giving back by teaching study skills myself and also tutoring. The skills that I have learned through my field of expertise are undoubtedly universal and would applicable to many fields of study.
golf
I have been playing golf since I was seven years old. My father is an avid golfer and taught me everything I know. I played golf for four years in high school and continue to play whenever I have the chance.
basketball
I have been playing organized basketball since I was five years old. During my undergraduate work at Illinois State University, I coached a first grade co-ed basketball team. Also, I assisted my father with his 5th-8th grade boys basketball team while at community college.
tennis
I have been playing tennis since I was 10 years old. I attended several tennis camps, played 3 years of tennis in high school, and continue to play regularly with friends. I have a solid grasp on the basic fundamentals of tennis and would be able to teach strategy and give helpful hints sufficiently.
ASVAB
I recently took the ASVAB test in July 2009 in anticipation of a possible military career. In preparation for the exam, I used several independent study guides that assisted in content familiarization, study techniques, and exam structure. I scored well on the exam (better than 88% of those who test). This put in the "excellent" category in terms of educational excellence and aptitude. In additional to my university-level educational achievements, I believe this score makes an excellent source of ASVAB knowledge and potential tutelage.
