Hey! I'm a 19 year old Chinese dude at the University of Washington. My friends say that I'm easy going and helpful, always positive and smiling. I'm a guy with a wide variety of interests, and because I have somewhat of an addictive personality, I go very deep into every interest or skill that I have. If you're looking for a person with a wide spectrum of knowledgeable, and one who's willing to put extra effort in giving out everything I know, then you've found the right one.
Having been an immigrant and having met friends in a multitude of cultures, my cultural acumen transcends the language barrier. I speak perfect English and Chinese, and through my gained insights into the contrasts, I've made my self more efficient by implementing the best parts of different cultures. From my early, strict education in China I've gain a set of effective test-beating strategies and skills. My years in Seattle provided me the freedom to explore into many interests. And lastly, I've had many realizations as I made the cultural transition, which can help anyone who's unfamiliar with and interested in Chinese or American culture.
I enjoy virtually everything, and the best of my interests include food, traveling and adventure, video games, poker, guitar, literature, psychology, religion and politics.
My philosophy in tutoring is to build an interest, not to shove endless information that one can't digest. I know that only by helping a person feel the importance of such abilities would make it meaningful. I'm definitely qualified to tutor in these subjects, for I never settle for shallow understanding of something. Of course this can't be all taught in a short session, but I know which are the most helpful and important techniques that bring results. To different people, I'll devise different plans: whatever gets the most done and yet make the experience easy and enjoyable!
