About Dago Florent:

Hello! My name is Florent and I am so excited about the possibility of becoming your multilingual tutor!
I graduated from Senghor International University in Alexandria (Egypt)with a Master equivalent degree in Culture Heritage Management (Art History, museology, library sciences). I had a chance to travel to Paris and Tours (France) for various training programs, therefore, I do possess a great international profile and an openness to various cultures.

In addition, I previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages (french option) at Abidjan University in Ivory Coast. I have been immersed in the French language since my early childhood and speak, read and write French with excellence. I also speak, read and write Spanish very well because I studied this wonderful language in College as well.

Professional Background: After receiving my undergraduate degree, I worked as a French Translator for professionals and also during my four years civil servant career in the Ivory Coast. I was a librarian and also working for a national cultural center as a translator/interpreter in spanish and french.

I also taught French in a non-conventional way at international summer camps and most recently at Dekalb Technical College as an ESL/GED Substitute teacher. I am still enjoying this wonderful privilege helping new immigrants to grasp the basics in English.

Tutoring Experience: I have served as tutor to numerous individuals, including children, young adults and adults. I have tutored in the following subject areas: French (grammar, reading, writing, conversational language acquisition, vocabulary, pronunciation), English (grammar, vocabulary, sentence construction, editing and proof reading), and GED preparation (primary English and US History).

I also teach the Bible to people free of charge to help them become better citizens.

Teaching Style: I am an extremely organized individual who comes to each tutoring session prepared with an outline of the session, various written materials to use during the session and to practice content taught, and homework activities for the student to prepare prior to the next session. Every session begins with a review of the topics learned in the previous session and builds on these topics. I take my time with each student and do not move on to a new topic until I am certain he/she understands the previous concept. I love interaction and I use lots of visual elements to help my students understand. I display patience, empathy, compassion and a good listening spirit. The sessions are fun! I like to get to know my students on a personal level and take pride in watching them succeed and grow.

I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your learning goals!
