I received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York in 2003 with a Minor in Mathematics. I have been working as an Civil Engineer in Massachusetts for 5 years and recently passed the license exam to become a Professional Engineer. This work has given me practice using algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and physics as tools to solve complex problems and design the infrastructure around us.
For the past two winters I volunteered teaching skiing to at-risk youth with a non-profit organization in the Boston area. Children of all ages consided me a role model while I helped them experience new challenges. This experience has encouraged me to continue helping others by sharing my skills with others while improving their lives.
I found myself in New Orleans after Tulane's School of Public Health accepted my fiance into a dietetic licensure program. I am a friendly, patient teacher who can get along with just about anybody. I am also a well rounded person with other hobbies such as cycling, rock climbing, song writing, history and spending time with friends and family. I am confident in my ability to make math, physics and science interesting and even fun to someone who may be struggling in these subjects.
