I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in English and am a Washington State Licensed Highly Qualified Teacher. I have completed my course work for my Masters of Education and have a Special Education Endorsement in process. I have a strong background in Writing and Reading instruction and have taught English, Math and Study Skills in Special Education (Emotional and Behavior Disorders) and have taught and tutored ages 8-48. My teaching style is oriented to a multiple intelligences approach; understanding that each student is an individual with specific learning preferences. My goal is to discover how a student learns and structure lessons and tasks that compliment an individual's learning style. Nurturing self-esteem and confidence as learners as students who can achieve content mastery is another focus of my instruction. I welcome the opportunity to work with K-12 students and offer a sincere and thoughtful approach to learning that focuses on the whole child.
