I am looking for an opportunity to help people with difficulties they may be experiencing with the most widely-used language all over the world.
With my degree in English, focusing on writing and editing, I find joy in correcting written materials. I am very detail-oriented, so when it comes to checking papers, I love to scribble as many notes as I can get in there as possible, to help the reader when it comes to revising their piece. I used to love it when my professors would write a lot of tips and suggestions as feedback on my classwork or homework assignments. Peer-reviewing essay-sessions during class were one of the best opportunities to explore the strengths and weaknesses of others and our own.
When I was a student at NOVA, I volunteered to help college students prepare for final examinations. This opportunity was only given to a selected few from our class, and only lasted one semester. I met with these students no more than two or three times, but the experience was challenging, especially because the students were my peers.
As a temporary freelancer, I get the opportunity to write and re-write drafts that I report on. I have had several articles published in a local newspaper.
As a college student assistant in the summer, I had the opportunity of reading and correcting classmates quizzes and essay assignments. It was a great experience, because I got the chance to notes, suggestions, and tips to these students on their assignments.
Finally, as a leader in an after-school program for one year, I gained rapport with elementary school children. One of my duties were helping them complete their home assignments during homework time.
I hope my skills and abilities meet the requirements of my future clients. I would be more than delighted to benefit others with my expertise. Looking forward to hearing from you.
