Over the past 20 years I’ve taught reading, writing, & literature at various levels from preschool to college level English courses as well as ESL to newcomers to the United States. I have a Master's degree in Linguistics from the University of Louisville, and I'm finishing up a PhD in English. I've also scored KATS tests and writing portfolios so I understand how schools evaluate student work. I love words and stories and how we use language to communicate with others and shape our worlds. I can help you or your children improve reading skills and comprehension, and express ideas effectively. Everyone has strengths, and mine is helping others to build on what they know to acquire and practice the skills needed to do well in school and on standardized tests.I love seeing students engage as they begin to master their challenges and achieve their goals.
