I graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH in 2004. I graduated from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT in May 2008 with my B.S. in Meteorology with a minor in mathematics and physics. I am currently attending UMASS Lowell for my M.S. in atmospheric science.
While in college, I have tutored students between grade 5 and sophomore standing in college. I have had experience tutoring students in basic math, pre-algebra, intermediate algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry and pre-calculus. I would also be able to tutor students in calculus as I have taken calculus 1, 2 and 3 while in college.
I am a friendly person at heart but stern when the need arises to be so. I am patient and open to as many questions as the student needs to ask in order to understand the material. I go through a few examples step-by-step, while explaining the reasoning so they can get an idea of how to proceed with the task at hand. As the student attempts to do their work, I follow along and see where they may be having a problem to get them back on the right track more easily. My teaching style is simple yet has been effective every time.
