As a tutor, my objective is to motivate each child to do their best and try to assist each child by giving them the knowledge they need to be able to complete their work. Unlike, other tutors who sometimes give away answers to the child, I would want to set goals for the child so that there is a building step towards their success. Qualities I possess which would make me an excellent tutor would be to have the motivation to build the child's confidence, enhance their motivation and concentration skills. This, I believe, makes them enjoy their studies and develop good study habits which enables children to gain good results in all other subjects as well. Past & current work experience:
I currently work as an AVID math tutor for HISD. Last semester, I worked one on one with eighth graders who needed help with math. I plan on continuing to work part-time as an AVID tutor. I also work at Kumon Learning Center as the office manager twice a week and also help students if they have trouble with their classwork and grade tests. I also tutor an 8th grade child who is home schooled through Texas Tech University. In addition, I tutor my two siblings who are also home schooled.
