With thirteen years' experience as an electrical troubleshooter of industrial equipment, the need to study computer science and mathematics became imperative in order to keep abreast with newer and advanced technologies incorporated into industrial machinery controls.
In 2007, I successfully completed a double major in the above mentioned subjects with a GPA of 3.99 and honors. I pride myself as a problem solver and would like to project my skills and love for mathematics onto students.
I believe that students tend to remember material in which they are interested. And since knowledge is what we remember of what we have studied, presenting mathematics in an interesting manner --perhaps with specific references to the history of its development and some of its practical applications-- will undoubtedly make students more interested in the subject and cause them to retain more.
I have tutored students in university level calculus I & II and have them pass with perfect scores even though they hated mathematics. I boast that I have the patience and knowledge to do the same for any student at any level and show them how relevant mathematics is to our everyday lives.
