About Kimberly:

I was an Honor student during my undergraduate program at University of New Mexico in Los Lunas and Albuquerque, NM. This Honor helped me earned several scholarships to support for my tuition through out my studying.
During this time, I homeschooled my daughter from 8 grade all the way to college. I also helped to teach other homeschooled students when their parents were busy. I taught all subjects: English, social science, math, and religion. With the knowledge from Computer Engineering program, I assisted my daughter study her Electronic program at TVI, the Community College. She recently graduated and became an Electronic Technician at a local company, Aspen Avionics, in Albuquerque, NM building GPS devices.
My favorite subject of study is always Math since I was a child. As a Computer Engineering, I took most of Math classes there is such as College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Discrete Structures, Electronic math, probability for Engineering, Vector Analysis, and differential equations. My other favorite is using MS Office: Excel, Words, Works, Power Point, Outlook, Access, etc.
When I worked at University of New Mexico, I helped to train non-computer users and also helped Professors to create their Web Courses online using WebCT. Here in Indianapolis, I have tutored IUPUI student to work through her Web Design class.
Beside skills in Computer, I also have long years experience in making pattern and design clothing; especially, Designing in Bridal, Formal, and basic men clothing. I had my own sewing shop back in 1990 and decided to switch career to computer when the economics was bad, but I still have the equipments and never stop sewing. I make pattern from measurements and have multiple tricks for alterations.

More On Kimberly's Subjects:

  • sewing

I have had sewing experience for 28 years. I started from sewing for myself and friends and got certified on making pattern and sewing by measurements. After that I opened my own tailor shop to do custom made 2 years. I, then, went to work in couple manufactures in North Carolina to get experience in assembly line. I had to move to Albuquerque to live near my brother and got a position at the Alteration shop until I got a permanent position at Nicole Limited, Inc., where they made hand painted-silk garments, 6 months later. There, I started as a sewer, then a Pattern and sample maker, and a supervisor in charge in design layout, cutting, sewing, and final products. When Nicole Limited moved to Arizona, under a different name, I came to work at a Bridal/Cleaner shop. At this shop, I did some alterations and mostly formal and bridal gowns besides running fashion show once in a while on formal and bridal gowns, and tuxedo wear. When I gained the reputation with the customers, I decided to re-open my own tailor shop again to do contract works with my old boss. At my shop, I had different sections that went on at different times in a day. During opening time, I contacted clients for contract works and trained people how to sew at all levels, received alterations and custom made on formal and bridal gowns, and rented tuxedo. In the evening, I had sewers working on assembly line such as racing jackets, wind jackets, large women apparel. The economy went down after the Iraq war started, I went back to college and got my degrees in Computer field and moved to Indianapolis to get married. When I came to Indiana, the Fitter position at Nordstrom, Inc. at the Circle Center downtown of Indianapolis attracted my attention, and that where I am currently employed. Since the new Nordstrom store opened at Fashion Mall, Keystone and Crossing avenue, got busy, I went there and helped the tailor/alterations shop. As a Fitter, I consult customer on garment fittings and suggest alterations necessities. I can guide you how to sew or make pattern on a flat form or on dress form and also on computer software. I am looking forward to tutor you in any subject that related to sewing.

And recently, I used MS VB 2008 Express Edition to create a more secure professional Website. I am looking forward to tutor you in this subject.
