    I have been sewing for 18 years. My main focus is clothing. I do not quilt on a regular basis. So, I would only be comfortable teaching someone who wishes to learn quilting the basics of sewing and fabric selection. I am very capable on a serger as well (16 years experience). I create 75 to 100 costumes annually and other clothing from simple pajamas to more complex evening gowns as needs arise. Beginners' instructions will include proper fabric selection, proper fabric pretreatment, non-thread sewing (to gain control and confidence), stitch length/tension practice, pattern usage and a final piece build. I do not plan to teach intermediate sewing, but may be available to help on an individual project basis.
