I am interested in social justice and follow my beliefs in my daily life inside and outside of the church. I have also been actively engaged in community activities, in which I have been involved in outreach programs such as Sparkman Homes ministry at Southside Baptist Church. These activities have allowed me to demonstrate and refine skills that will benefit the community in which I decide to settle. I have also served as a singer in our church choir. My many talents and interests are astounding. Their common thread is my belief in cooperating with others and helping them to achieve their goals. I believe that each one of us has to contribute to a better world by our own actions.
I am an optimistic person who finds solutions in times of crisis. Work gets done but at the same time new avenues of thinking are opened. I am a leader who is humble. I pursue the goals of my groups with passion without lettingmy own needs or interests get in the way. I have had such a varied and productive career-- both in and out of the classroom. I am an exceptional student and person who earned university recognition for my academic achievements, my commitment to others, and my service to several communities. My cooperative spirit, my compassion for the well-being of all, and my flexible leadership style make me an outstanding leader who is destined for significant accomplishments in graduate work and beyond.
I possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Business Administration from Judson College for Women, and an Associate of Sciences degree in Paralegal Technology from John C. Calhoun State Community College. I have maintained a GPA of 3.96 attending Calhoun pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Design Drafting while working full-time for Engineering Management Concepts and part-time for The City of Huntsville as a shuttle driver.
I have been awarded academic recognition on several occasions with her name being listed on the Dean's List, National Dean's List and the President's List from more than one college. I am also a lifetime member of the honorary fraternity Phi Theta Kappa which I was inducted into during the 1980's.
I have already completed all of my general education requirements for the Design Drafting degree and to date have completed 15 hours of the major core requirements. I lack 31 semester hours to complete my degree as of today's date. I could actually complete either the Residential Development Planning certificate or the Computer Aided Drafting certificate by taking only six and nine semester hours, respectively.
