Hello, Oi, Hola!
Not only do I love to teach, but I also love to learn. I am a graduate of Brown University where I majored in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies. During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to study International Business, Psychology, Translation, Writing, Latin American Culture and Literature and I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Brazil for a year.
I also have a wide variety of interest and talents. I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently and have strong communication and writing skills. I am a American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard. I have experience coaching and teaching swim lessons.
I have completed 27 credits towards a Masters Degree in Masters of Science in Education and TESOL from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. I have 5 years teaching experience. I taught ESL, Spanish and Computers for the Met Family Literacy Program. Through the NYC Teaching Fellows Program, I also taught English as a Second Language for three years in New York City. I think learning should be authentic, fun and hands-on. I believe that students should be guided to explore and ask questions. I look forward to guiding you in exploring and learning about the world around you!
Tchauzinho!
