Hi! I've spent my educational career in the Catholic school system, and my professional career in one form of chemistry or another, and I feel that I can help people who need that extra help in science, or math and English. The sciences will always be my first love, but I am also particularly interested in grade school and high school level math classes like algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Grade school/high school level English classes are also a strength of mine, as is reading comprehension and the planning, organizing, and writing of reports. My tutoring experience mostly comes from tutoring in college, where I worked with both young children who needed extra help in Math and returning adults who were interested in the sciences. Since then I have guided many of the neighborhood children and my own children in their attempts to be successful in reading and math. I'm happy to say they've done well! My style could be considered varied, then focused, as I try to not just reiterate information from a textbook, but offer different views of a question so the person's unique way of learning best can be uncovered. Once we can find the best way to learn, I find the pieces fall into place more easily. I love that - ah HA - moment as well, when it all finally makes sense from nothing but confusion.
Other subjects such as sewing, religion snd computers are interests that I have picked up either after my college days or I have been interested in since I was a child. I'd be happy to share what I have learned.
Thanks for your consideration!
