I have a master's in English as well as having completed the coursework for the doctorate in English. In addition, I have Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) certification (from the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute). I taught ESL for a year and a half on a full-time basis to more than 250 non-native speakers from 29 countries. I am known for my open, friendly and welcoming, student-oriented style. I teach all aspects of language: speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
I also have experience teaching English and Writing as an adjunct on the college level; in fact, I am currently teaching ESL Writing this fall semester for Nashville State Community College. I can supply reference letters from my former employer as well as from the director of the TESOL program.
Furthermore, I am employed full-time as a proofreader for Nashville's largest advertising agency and have more than 20 years' experience in proofreading and editing. Additionally, I have proofread and copy edited on a freelance basis for many years for Better Homes & Gardens (Meredith Publications).
I am likable and friendly. My theory is that there is no such thing as a dumb question!
