I am a certified elementary, and special education teacher with 30 years experience. I have worked with students with many different kinds of special needs, including dyslexia, attention difficulties, speech/language needs as well as all areas of Learning Disabilities. I also have experience working with students in the Autistic Sectrum.

I have tutored elementary and middle school students in the areas of math, reading, writing, study skills, test taking and social skills. I have also worked with adults striving to increase their literacy skills so they can pass the state GED exams.

I believe in a hands-on approach to teaching with lessons based on the students background and experience. Instruction will be designed to fit the learners learning styles and learning preferences. These options could include a focus on a preferred sport or activity or include manipulatives and mutlimedia.

  I am a certified NYS teacher in the area of N, K-6. I have over 20 years experience working with students in all elementary grade levels in all subject areas. I am familiar with current research and most school district reading programs. I am also trained in the Wilson Reading System and the Wilson Fundementals Reading Program. I have experience with the NYS standards and the state profiecency tests for elementary age children. I have extensive experience working with students who need additional support to successfully meet the state grade level standards.
