I am a grad student attending San Jose State University (online), taking courses full-time toward my MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science). As an undergrad, I studied history and graduated magna cum laude. I missed summa cum laude by only .002 points, but who's counting? My specialty is research, and I have always received special recognition as an outstanding writer. I chalk it up to my attention to detail, as I tend to pack every paragraph full of information. In my writing, I try to focus on overlooked or underrepresented aspects of history, and I favor primary sources. My ability to come up with a topic on which a professor has never read a paper is unmatched. I am new to tutoring professionally, but I have helped many classmates through some difficult materials. I don't think I have an actual "teaching style." I am pretty relaxed, answering questions as they may arise and then reviewing what was covered towards the end to make sure nothing was overlooked.
