I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2003 from California State University, Long Beach. I majored in Biological Sciences, with and option in Biology Education. In 2005 I completed the Single Subject Credential Program at CSULB, obtaining a Clear Credential in Biological Sciences. This credential allows me to teach Biology/Life Science for grades K-12 as well as adult education. I can also teach 8th grade level Physical Science.
I completed my student teaching at the high school and middle school levels. I taught one year at a middle school in Yucca Valley, CA. There I taught 8th grade physical science.
I decided to leave the job due to my husband deploying to Iraq and the fact that I was due to have a child at the start of the school year, while he was deployed.
While taking 2 years off to raise my daughter, I have kept very busy volunteering. I was a volunteer with my husband's Marine Corps unit, where I helped families stay informed and served as a mentor to younger spouses.
I am eager to get back to work, but still have the ability to raise my daughter. I believe that working as a tutor will allow me to do both.
