About Roger:

Dear Parents and Students:

I am experienced enough to know that learning involves understanding. Learning and understanding are not the same thing. Rather, one leads to the other. If one has only memorized a rule or a formula and does not have an understanding why the rule or formula applies, the student will not be equipped with the critical thinking skills needed to be successful when tackling a lengthy, difficult problem or challenge on an exam, an assessment, or an unannounced "pop" quiz.

I am 45 years old, have a 4 year old son of my own and have the patience to explain academics, discuss problems, and listen to the student's concerns with coursework, his or her anxiety over testing, or just frustration in general, because he or she is not receiving the proper coaching nor receiving the time needed for someone to identify where his or her problem may be.

I am naturally a teacher, mentor, coach, and motivator. I will get to know the student and formulate a plan for success and advancement. I am extremely intelligent, well-spoken, enjoy a challenge, and naturally take an interest in making sure your child not only improves but succeeds in achieving his or her goal of earning better grades, overcoming his or her fear of testing or assessments, and will explain proven test-taking techniques that will complement his or her understanding of the subject we are studying. This will lead to confidence, better grades, and enjoying school more.

I am a professional manager in the business world and am available evenings from 7 p.m. on weeknights and every other weekend.

I was a tutor in the math "Lab" during my first 2 years of college and am currently a senior at Florida Atlantic University studying accounting.

Although I have observed that many students struggle with mathematics, I am an excellent writer, enjoy the English language, and I'm willing to help your student succeed in many different areas.

Please don't hesitate to call and interview me. I will always give 100% of my time and attention to your son, daughter, other family member, friend, co-worker, or anybody needing a great tutor.

Thank You For Reading My Profile,

Roger
