I have taught grades 2-12 and have tutored for at least 10 years. I am experienced with at-risk,autistic, and students with ADD and other learning difficulties. I am most experienced with reading,English,writing,and study skills. I have taught high school English, middle school English, and all other subjects for elementary students. I have a multiple subject credential and 16 years experience as a teacher, including 2 years as a resource consultant.I look forward to working with all types of students and am confident I can help them achieve academic success.
I prefer to work one on one and review new material to mastery,use visual and other techniques for retaining information, use graphic organizers and work to improve note taking skills. Most students need to improve their organization skills and outlining skills while in class. When a student learns how to listen and take complete notes, studying is less time consuming and more efficient.
