For most of my professional life I have worked in education. This has ranged from after school operator to science educator to professionally tutoring college students. I enjoy helping to guide individuals academically.
I have a BA in Child Development, a BS in Wildlife Biology and a multiple subject teaching credential. My experience is varied and has been enriched through meeting so many students and parents all trying to better themselves through the process of learning.
I believe tutoring is not only about providing a sound understanding of the subject matter, but also about supporting students emotionally, as many subjects can be intimidating. Students also learn through many different ways so it's important to be sensitive to individual learning styles.
Teaching is something that I enjoy thoroughly. Right now I am taking time off to raise my children so tutoring offers the perfect opportunity for me to continue to help others.
