Hi, my name is David, and I am currently living in Brooklyn, although I can travel to Manhattan or other places, depending on the location and circumstances. I have a BA in music from Columbia. I principally teach piano and am classically trained, although I can also help with music history, composition, theory, and other styles such as jazz and pop. I have a piano in my apartment, and we can do lessons at either my place or yours. I scored a 1580 on the (old) SAT as well, and can tutor SAT and basic math additionally.

  I have studied piano since I was 7, and composition formally since I was about 10 years old. I have a BA in music from Columbia. I am most familiar with modern classical idioms, although I have experience as well in jazz, pop, rock, and other styles. I can help beginner and intermediate composers with issues such as pitch and rhythm notation, as well as harmony, and more advanced composers with issues concerning structure and development of musical ideas.

I am trained primarily as a classical pianist and composer, but have a degree of experience in a number of other styles.
