About Dusty:

Hi,

My name is Dusty. Here's a little about me: I'm originally from the Los Angeles area. I've played baseball my whole life and through college, attending University of California, San Diego. After completing my degree in communications, I moved home to L.A. to work and try to find out what I'd like to do for a career. I've always worked with children and enjoyed it, so I decided I'd like to go back to school for a masters in clinical psychology. Now I'm moved back to San Diego, looking to work and support myself until I can hopefully start up school in Fall of 2009.

The positions I've held working with kids have been somewhat diverse. I provided child care for the YMCA, ran my own youth baseball camps through a popular summer camp program in San Diego, and worked in a residential treatment facility for challenging youth boys, all of which I had to be fingerprinted and background checked for in order to work. I also wrote for a national youth baseball publication.

When working with kids, I like to lead by example in recognizing strong manners, morals, and values. At the same time, I'm sure to keep things fun and lighthearted, providing a great atmosphere for learning. I'm an extremely caring person, and will truly strive to help your child in whatever field they need a boost in.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Dusty

More On Dusty's Subjects:

  • baseball

I played baseball for about 20 years, beginning in tee-ball when I was three. I played for park leagues, Little League, Pony, all-stars, travel ball, high school, junior college, and Division II college. I love baseball, and I love working with kids. When children become better at baseball, it leads to higher self-esteem, more motivation to keep playing, and ultimately more fun. Being the catalyst for these things is so much fun for me. Whether it's working with a first-timer, learning to catch with two hands, or with a high school player looking to play in college, I can become part of the team to keep your child in the game.
