  I have about three and a half years working with children with special needs (ages 3-22). I have helped them with academics, life skills, job training, etc. Autism is the disability that I have the most knowledge about and experience with but I have also worked with children who have Down Syndrome, mental retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome to name a few.

  I am currently a senior in college so I have a lot of studying experience under my belt. Currently, I have a 3.6 GPA which qualifies me to graduate cum laude (with honors). Often times children can read through numerous pages without retaining information or being able to tell you the main points of the chapter. My methods of studying have a lot to do with pulling the main ideas from what I am reading and becoming an expert in them before I move on to the details. I can teach your child how to read a chapter and take notes/highlight in a way that will help them learn and remember what they just read. Study skills like these will help your child throughout their academic career and can make school a lot more enjoyable and less stressful.
