I graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Central Florida. After, I attained an Education minor from the University of Tennessee. Also, I taught 10th grade English as a summer intern.
I taught first grade for one year and worked as a tutor last school year. I tutored K-5 students in Reading/Comprehension, Writing/Grammar/Vocabulary and Math for two private companies and an elementary charter school. I am trained to tutor according to the Sunshine State Standards and aid preparation for FCAT. Additionally, I took piano lessons for ten years and taught music to 1st -3rd graders.
I believe that I make a wonderful teacher because I love to learn! I understand different learning styles and can adapt accordingly. I have a strong belief that everyone can be successful with hard work! I teach my students discipline and persistence. My encouraging attitude helps my students go above and beyond. I am extremely patient, loving and compassionate. This enables me to help my students overcome barriers and build great confidence. My focus is to not just improve a child's academic career, but build their character for lifelong success.
