About Nauman:

Thank you for looking at my profile. I am attending George Mason University as a Senior with a major in Biology (Pre-Medicine). I have taken many courses in the sciences, e.g. Physics, Biology, Microbiology, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I work part time as a Pharmacy Technician and am also a certified Emergency Medical Technician with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. I have also served as the Vice President of the International Student Umbrella at GMU for term 2007-2008. I am willing to meet at a location most suitable to you and your needs within a reasonable geographic location. I have tutored immediate family members through early education courses all the way through high school courses. My main goal is to help my students to understand the material and not just merely "memorize" the material. The way I go about doing this is to utilize various real life examples that can be related to better understand the concepts in question. Example: Understanding Oxidation/Reduction of Inorganic/Organic Chemical ReactionsPneumatic Device: OIL RIGOIL = Oxidation is Loss of electrons (Hydrogen atoms)RIG = Reduction is gain of electrons (Hydrogen atoms)I am confident I can help your student succeed to become a success at whatever he or she desires. Being a good student to me is more than having good grades. To get grades one must develop a study plan of how to study because each subject requires its own respective study plan. I am more than willing to assist your student in developing a study plan utilizing the many multi sensory approaches. Thank you for your time.

More On Nauman's Subjects:

  • ESL/ESOL

I have been living in the states for the past 21 years and am fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. I learned English first going through kindergarten and then my own native language. I understand the frustration associated with students in the ESL/ESOL sectors. By providing the student with a little at a time through though provoking exercises through all the way to full grammatically correct English passages I am confident my students will utilize their proper English skills as a tool to move on to other endeavors.

  • general computer

I have an ample of computer knowledge. My first employment was at Best Buy Inc. at the computer sales department. I have also taken various computer courses that I feel have seasoned me as a "computer guru". A specific course I took was, Computer Systems Technology where it taught students the fundamentals of computer technology how to literally make a computer and then take it apart. Aside from the physical associations, I have taught my parents and various family members from something as simple as how to turn the computer on to how to sell things on ebay. My main method for their success is driven by the fact that I let them be in control and let them make the mistakes because we never learn until we dont make a mistake.

  • study skills

Being a Senior at George Mason University I have experienced many situations where the course requires a different study style in their respective nature. The first failure a student can do is to decide how to study and hit a plateau. It is my firm belief that utilizing a multi sensory approach to learning will not only help understand the material but also retain it for future reference (Such as on an exam). Utilizing various mediums such as flash cards, group conversations, study sheets will help the student retain the required information. For example, when studying stereoisomers in Organic Chemistry, understanding the different 3-D models places a large stressor on the student however, by doing multiple problems through an experienced tutor the student will not only learn stereoisomerism but also enhance their visual appreciation to conceptual learning through different mediums other than the traditional methods such as books. Remember we are all as different as our fingerprints and we all require different environments and mediums to learn.
