  I believe the purpose of my life is to teach, specifically to teach languages. My educational and working backgrounds make me a qualified and successful ESL/EFL teacher. With a Master’s degree in education with a concentration in TESOL, I started my English-teaching career in universities and some test-oriented private language schools in Taiwan. Within years of teaching, I gained the experience of dealing with learners who came from different backgrounds with various intentions toward learning English, and had instructed in different areas such as listening, speaking, pronunciation, writing, reading, and English for specific and academic purposes. Years of teaching has made me even more enthusiastic about teaching. I came back to the States to further my study and research in TESOL to acquire a deeper and boarder insight in this field. My specialties in the Doctoral program are in developing English-related curriculum, teaching English for specific purposes, and researching the perspectives toward nonnative ESL teachers from various aspects.
