I have a natural talent for mathematics and computer programming. My work experience as a consultant has taught me to explain concepts that seem obvious to me in terms people with other interests and talents can understand.
During my career I have mentored and instructed interns and new employees not only on the aspects they may not have gotten in school, but also a broader application of the skills they are seeking.
I find walking a student through a problem and having them explain how they solve it to be a much more beneficial form of teaching than lectures or simply reading methods.
