About Tiffany:

As a recent college graduate of Virginia Tech, and once a tutored individual myself, I definitely understand that some students need the extra help to ensure their academic success, as well as to help them reach their personal goals. I know that if it were not for the after-school help that I received throughout my high school career, I might have fallen short of meeting my own personal goals and academic achievements. No one likes to struggle with homework and feel left behind in class. That's why tutors, like myself, are here to help students along. There's no shame in asking for help. The benefit you get as a tutored student is being able to walk into your classroom more prepared than ever to ace your quizzes and tests. The end result is seeing good grades on your report cards and making yourself and your parents proud of your hard work and achievements. Even better, you gain a new found confidence in knowing that with the help of your tutor, you can do good in school just like your peers. I've had the opportunity, on and off, to help students with their homework after school, and I find that the best way to help students is to offer a variety of problem-solving exercises for easy comprehension. More importantly, I feel that being a patient teacher makes learning for the student easier. I am more than happy to use my spare time to help other students make forward progress in their educational careers. I believe that each student can be a valuable contributor to the future progress of the world with the support of family and great teachers!

Hello Art Lovers! I'd like start by letting you all know that I understand these days that art is being taught less and less in schools nationwide. I would like to be apart of the minority group of people who still believe the art should still be taught in schools because it is essential to a student's success in learning and development. I grew up with a mother who cooked, sewed, and played the piano. My mother always encouraged me to explore my creative side from childhood through adulthood. I can remember going to art class and it becoming one of my favorite classes in school. Drawing in art class, I felt, allowed me personal playtime and the freedom to express my thoughts through visual mediums. I loved using graphite and charcoal, crayons and colored markers, and paint to draw and to show what I was thinking. Drawing became the one subject in school where there was such ease to thinking that it was effortless to do the work; and this was nice because after working really hard in my other classes, I needed time to draw just to relax and remember that school is really fun. By the time I reached high school, I was active in lots of extra curricular activities. I played the clarinet and cello, I'd sew to try to make my own clothing, and I would use sketchbooks to draw just about everything I saw when I was traveling with my family. Since I loved traveling a lot and was always amazed by tall skyscrapers and buildings, I decided that I should explore a career in architecture. So here I am, a recent college graduate with a degree in Architecture from a terrific university. For the curious minds, I am able to draw lots of things ranging from sketches of buildings to furniture, landscapes and so on. My next step is to become a licensed architect so I can help others design buildings ranging from libraries, schools, and entertainment venues to homes for everyone to enjoy. I figured it would be great to teach what I have learned to others who are excited about drawing, like myself, because the world needs more designers to build and draw things. Besides, this is what all artists would like to see happen in hopes of maintaining the survival of the arts for future generations to experience and enjoy. Looking back on my school days, I can see that if it were not for me using drawing as a mode to help express my thoughts visually, I might have not pursued an education in the art field. I'm sure glad that I took drawing in art class seriously when I was younger, because it has now opened doors for me to have a career that uses drawing everyday and is always adventurous and fun. I welcome all interested students to take on the challenge of drawing and see where it leads you throughout your life. You may well be surprised!
