I am a recent college graduate (New York University 2006) with outstanding academic credentials. I graduated in the top 10% of my class at a highly demanding private high school, with high SAT scores (Verbal: 800; Math: 660). At NYU, I received high honors in my major (Comparative Literature) and graduated magna cum laude, with a GPA of 3.82.
Since then, I’ve spent one year teaching English to elementary and middle school students in South Korea, as part of an after-school English academy. It was an interesting experience. I slowly discovered the most effective ways to break through to my students, and by the end of the year I knew how to effectively communicate with and lead them despite our vast cultural differences.
Now that I’m back in the United States, I believe that my unique experiences have given me a unique perspective upon teaching and tutoring. Above all, I am a patient and effective communication who wants to give others the same chance for academic success that I have had.
