As a professional tutor, I have assisted college students with academic papers, essays, and works of fiction and poetry. I am currently employed at Virginia Wesleyan College's Writing Center, so it seems only natural to offer my services as a WyzAnt tutor.
A bit of background: I majored in English at the University of Southern Maine. I chose English because writing had always appealed to me as a vocation. In 2001 I published two essays in The Maine Times, a statewide periodical.
I am currently enrolled at National University, where I'm finishing my MFA in Creative Writing. To say the least, grammar, structure and style are second nature to me, and I have a great passion for sharing what I know with people who are struggling or just want to get ahead.
In 2006, I was recognized as a finalist in The Writer Magazine's first-ever Online Poetry Spotlight. Soon after, three of my poems appeared in The Gnu, the National University literary magazine. I continue to seek publishing credits, sending out work as I am able and pushing the limits of my creativity.
If you or your child think you would benefit from the experience of a career writer, someone who loves the written word and is familiar with its intricacies, please send me an email. I look forward to speaking with you.
