I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but math is my first love. Many times a person does well in math usually, but then begins to struggle in the higher maths. Since math each year is like building blocks to the higher maths, many times the underlying problem is weakness in an area of earlier math. Once this area is evaluated and reviewed, the person goes on to do very well in the higher maths. . . the good news is that it usually doesn't take long to figure this out - then the confidence is quickly restored. . .
