I have received my Associate's Degree from Joliet Junior College. I am currently a Junior at Northeastern Illinois University, where I hope to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education (with my concentration in English). My goal is to become a Middle School Language Arts teacher. Until I reach my goal, I would love to spend my time tutoring children from elementary school to junior high school (as well as high school students, as long as it's English). Even though History is my favorite subject, I have always found that my talent resides in Language Arts. Although I have never professionally been a tutor, I have helped my twelve-year-old brother with his homework many times. Helping him finish his work and watching him as he realizes how to solve a problem makes me feel as though I have made a great accomplishment. That's why I would love to become a tutor. My teaching style is simple. It consists of reviewing the directions multiple times, reviewing all of the answers to make sure that they're correct, and most importantly, making sure that the student knows the course work and material enough to be successful when working on their own.My 3rd grade teacher once said to me that you learn something new every day. That was thirteen years ago, and she hasn't been wrong since. There's always something new to learn, and that's why I will always want to be there for students, lending a helpful hand.
