Hello! My name is Vanessa and I received a BA from Cornell University in Biology and Spanish and my MD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I have always been interested in teaching and served as a tutor to other students beginning in high school. I was a teaching assistant for the pre-medical Biology and Organic Chemistry courses in college as well as a tutor/adviser in medical school. I am currently a resident at one of the Harvard hospitals. I graduated 4th in my class at Cornell as well as valedictorian from my high school and medical school classes.   Let me help you ace the MCATs! I took the MCATs about 6 years ago prior to beginning medical school. I scored a 37 S on my exam. I subsequently matriculated at the Johns Hopkins Medical School as a result of my resume and MCAT scores. I feel that I am very knowledgeable not only on the material tested on the exam, but also on strategies of how to take the exam. I would love to help pre-medical students not only do well on the exam, but help them prepare their medical school application and give them tips and advice on the whole process!

  Over the course of the past 27 years, I have acquired study skills that have allowed me to be successful in the academic world. I graduated as valedictorian of my high school with a 4.0 GPA; 4th in my class from Cornell University with a GPA of 4.13, having been on the Dean's list every quarter; and valedictorian from the Johns Hopkins Medical school. I believe that the keys to my academic success have been my study skills. I am very organized and focused and have devised my own personal methods of study success that I would love to share with you!

  Great tutor!

  Vanessa picked up on my academic needs very quickly and offered sound and pinpointed advice. She presented me a specific plan for preparing for the MCAT that took into account my time constraints and weaknesses. Going over such things as the optimal way to utilize subject tests vs. topical testsand content prep vs. full-length exams provided meaning and organization to the mass of MCAT practice materials available. She also provided sound advice on studying for the MCAT vis-a-vis my general classes and helped me design my timetable.
