About Dustin:

I am a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Guitar performance. I was near the top of my class in all of my theory and history courses. I am most accomplished in the classical style, but I have not forgotten how to rock out if the need arises! I have been involved in studio lessons for four years, with one on one instruction when necessary. My teaching style is centered around trying to give the child material he or she will enjoy (I arranged a compilation of music from Mario Brothers and many other popular video games for students to learn from). I find that (for instance) learning a piece they like which happens to have trills in it is more effective than a random trill etude written in the 17th century. In addition I have worked in the technology field for most of my working life and am very comfortable with many software packages (both Windows and Mac).
