I am a teacher who is truly dedicated to helping my students to succeed in the classroom and in their life in general. I believe that students learn in many different ways, and it is the teacher's responsibility to determine the best approach to ensure student success. I also think that with hard work and parent/teacher cooperation, students who typically have a difficult time in a classroom setting can begin to see things turn around for them. I have a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis in Elementary Education, as well as my Early Childhood-4th grade teaching certification. I currently teach 4th grade in a wonderful school in a growing district. Prior to receiving my degree, I taught school age children at a preschool as well. I have several years of experience with students of various ages and grade levels. I have tutored students in my classroom as well other classrooms during the school year in preparation for the Math and Reading TAKS tests, and I also tutor reading groups that generally need additional assistance in the classroom during the year. I have a passion for learning myself, and I believe that I set a good example for the students that I come teach. I enjoy the role of mentoring in addition to tutoring, and strive to inspire my students not only to do better in school, but to set goals and work hard in order to be successful in their lives in the future, as well.
