Educational Background:
I received a well-rounded education from UCLA, having earned a B.A. in cultural anthropology and graduated with honors. Prior to this I was salutatorian of my high school, and (being the nerdy student that I was) involved in academic decathalon, academic league, and was editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper. I am currently preparing for graduate school in occupational therapy, finishing my pre-requisites at Southwestern College.
My tutoring style depends on the subject (i.e. helping with math vs. proof-reading an essay), but consists of looking at the student's assignment and reviewing the student's pre-existing knowledge of the lesson. My role as the tutor would be to help the student understand what the assignment requires and by quickly reviewing the lesson, help the student apply the knowledge that he has learned in class to that particular assignment.
