More On Luciana's Subjects:

  • elementary (k-6th)

My elementary teaching experience started very early in life when my father, a teacher himself, had me tutor children younger than my age. I have been tutoring since I was 7 years old! I have a passion for teaching and I feel that when the student fails, the teacher fails too. I feel that good teachers have personal characteristics that include a genuine interest for children, respect for their individuality, the ability to sense a child's individual need, great interpersonal communication, the ability to be patient, creative, energetic, organized and resourceful. Knowing the subject matter is not enough. A good teacher must be able to adapt her/his teaching style and knows that all children can learn if they are presented with the right material. I also believe that a good teacher is committed to high education standards in her/his own life, has leadership qualities, a clear speaking voice, a good sense of humor, and the ability to make a student feel that he/she is important. I have honed the above skills, but, most importantly, I have kept alive a passion for teaching. I feel qualified, non only because of my high educational level, but also because I have a passion and a goal: that everything single student I tutor reach his or her own potential in a positive and fun way.
