As a tutor at Southwestern Community College and at Johnson & Wales University, I have accumulated seven years of experience in assisting students with writing for all subjects. At Johnson & Wales, I also taught workshops on test taking, attentive reading, and other study skills. I have worked with many ESL students and am reasonably fluent in Spanish. I graduated from U.C. San Diego *magna cum laude* with a B.A. in literature.
I’ve acquired the most experience and skill in helping students plan, organize, write, and edit essays. No student leaves a session with me without a valid topic, thesis statement, or outline of supporting points. Although I’m an expert on MLA’s rules of grammar, punctuation, and citation, I look up anything of which I’m uncertain and never claim to know anything that I don’t. I’m very outgoing and interactive, frequently asking questions, checking for comprehension, and using humor to keep sessions interesting.
