About Kerry:

I have taught for ten years. I have a B.A. in English, and I am in the process of getting my Masters of Literacy. I have teaching certifications in English, reading and ESOL. In my career, I have taught English (9-12), ESOL (9-11),reading (9-12)and AVID (10-12) . I have also written curriculum for the district, taught the district's SAT class, served as TAKS Specialist and served on the Teacher Leadership Collaboration board. I am also AVID trained (study skills, note taking, organization, etc). I have privately tutored SAT for two years, and I have very satisfied customers! Although I primarily work with secondary students, I am certified 6-12, and my Masters program is K-12. My teaching philosophy involves rigor, relevance and relationships. I am relaxed but thorough, and I am good at what I do.
