ESL/ESOL I have 15 years experience teaching English as a Second Language with a BA in English and a CELTA for instructing adults. CELTA is accredited by Cambridge University in England and is recognized as one of the best training programs in the world for teachers of ESL. I'm able to teach all levels and taught for 8 years at the university level. I'm also highly skilled in Public Speaking and Performance Arts. My teaching experience includes work in Japan, South Korea and the United States and is mainly with adults and sometimes gifted younger students, but I don't, as a rule, teach children unless they are advanced. You will get the best from me, so I want you to give your best in your work. I love teaching. I'm patient, kind, gentle, but challenging. The only way to excell, even if you have a natural talent in some area, is to do the work and practice as often as you can. Will and desire to excell is the ticket to mastery in any field or subject. religion When I was in university, I minored in Religious Studies. I also lived in Asia where I studied and experienced Buddhism and other forms of Asian Religions. I have a firm and clear understanding of Christianity, church history and the Bible. I've worked with many denominations, both Protestant and Catholic and respect all of them. songwriting Songwriting is lyrics and lyrics have much to do with Poetry. My degree is in literature and my focus was Poetry. My focus for the last 35 years, in fact, has been and still is American and British poetry. Since graduating, in 1979, I have continued to write poems and songs and have published three books, read them all over the United States and even Asia. I have a great respect for poetry of the past, but also understand contemporize poetry. I do not write Rap or Hip Hop, nor do I take part in Slams, but if it's lyrical poetry you want to understand, I can help you with that. So, let's be clear. Poetry is related to songwriting. I'm not a singer-songwriter, but a Poet, and all poetry has to do with sound and music.
