About Victor:

I am a high school graduate, and I will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall.
I attended the Liberal Arts and Science Academy at Austin (formerly known as the Science Academy at LBJ).
I am a pretty fun guy, and as long as we're learning, there's no reason why we can't goof around as well.
I finished multivariable calculus my junior year; I aced the ACT math section, so feel free to ask me math questions!
Speaking of the ACT, I had a composite score of 35, so I know a couple things about it.
Grammar has always been one of my pet peeves, and I have taken four years of Latin, so my syntax is rather precise.
I also know a thing or two about computers; I took all of my school's courses regarding computer science, and I am going to major in the subject.
Finally, I aced the Music Theory AP, as well as the UIL Music Theory tests two years in a row, so I know quite a bit about music as well.
Like I said, I'm a pretty nice guy; the only thing I won't tolerate is a lack of desire to learn.

More On Victor's Subjects:

  • ear training

Although I do not have perfect pitch, I still have good relative pitch. I took two years of music theory classes in high school, and I have been playing piano since I was five. I am able to identify intervals and scales (including modal). I also am able to do melodic dictation. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. I am fairly confident that I know the stuff, but whether or not I can teach it is up to you!

  • piano

I started playing piano when I was roughly a foot or two higher than the bench. I had to use phone books for my first recital so that my hands could reach the keys. I started with UT's Young Musicians program, and have taken private lessons for almost twelve years now. I have participated and placed in various contests around town, and I've learned a couple of pieces by ear.

  • sight singing

I was taught using solfege and movable do. I have been to state competitions, as well as other tests around town. I was in my school's Varsity Mixed Choir, and made it all the way to state auditions. I can read both treble and bass clef (and even tenor clef, but I don't like to).
