About Matthew:

My name is Matthew. I received a double degree from West Virginia University in Mathematics and Communication Studies. I am currently enrolled at WVU in the Secondary Education program and plan to be a high school teacher. I have be a certified paid math tutor for the university for various different math classes at WVU including Calculus. I was also the coach of the Bridgeport Middle School math counts team that placed at states for 2 years. I believe receiving a degree in Communication Studies and my ability to relate to people is what separates me from most other math tutors. Most math tutors have trouble communicating with students. Math: I have competed nationally and won various state math competitions such as Math Field Day, Math Counts, the Junior High School Mathematics Exam, the American Invitational Mathematics Exam and the American Mathematics Competition. I have also competed Nationally in all of those competitions and was one of 8 students who took the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition at West Virginia University. I also scored a perfect score of 800 on the SAT in the math section. I am becoming a math teacher because I enjoy math and enjoying working with others. I am looking forward to tutoring you.
