About Cody:

As a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and a graduate student at the University of Michigan, I have acquired a deep knowledge of the sciences. I have a BS in Biological Sciences and plan to obtain my PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology. I have always been a good student, and in high school I had several opportunities to tutor fellow classmates in biology and in chemistry. This was the only formal tutor experience I had. Yet, informally in college I had experience helping my peers and especially younger students learn difficult topics. What makes me excel as a tutor is that I try to explain the problem in a simpler way. I use examples that help the student connect with the material. Also, I am athletically inclined. I have played football in both high school and college. In high school, I played safety and earned 3 varsity letters. I started two years. In my senior year I garnished All-County honors. I played football for 4 years at CMU. I earned 3 varsity letters and started my senior year at safety. I have the necessary knowledge to help anyone improve their football abilities. I played basketball for 4 years in high school earning 2 varsity letters. I have also played intramurals for the past four years and have a deep understanding of the game and the techniques needed to improve.
